Schechter Gallery Residency | 2020-2021

Maayan Elyakim, Reouth Keren, Zohar Gotesman and Nivi Alroy are the chosen artists for the first residency program

Launched in 2021 with the support of the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago, the Art Residency at the Schechter Gallery provides top Israeli artists with the unique opportunity to learn, create and exhibit their work. For the duration of the four-month residency, the artists work in an on-site studio. The gallery curator acts as a mentor to the artists throughout their residency, connecting them to academic advisers and senior artists in order to best facilitate their creative work.

The selection committee, headed by gallery curator, Shira Friedman included the curators Nirit Nelson, Hagit Peleg Rotem and Ron Bartosh, received 170 proposals. The artists selected for the program in its first year are Nivi Alroy, Zohar Gotesman, Maayan Elyakim and Reouth Keren.
